Brad Springer Racing took their #61 modified to Winchester Speedway on October 16th for the Annual Run for the Gun 50. Brad is the defending winner of this event taking home the Winchester Rifle in last year's event and is the current track record holder with a 16.31 second lap around the famous half mile high banked track. Brad qualified in the 5th spot out of the 44 car field. RaceStatus.com sponsored a 6 lap, 6 man shootout race for $500 to win in which Brad finished in the 2nd position, not quite able to get the win, although the car was very strong. The caution filled feature saw the #61 modified starting in the 8th position and while avoiding a possible wreck, dropped back to 13th and had to fight hard to get back to the 8th place finishing position. This wasn't quite the race night Brad was hoping for but he did finalize the USA Modified Series points championship with a Win. Consistent top 5 finishes all year and strong runs is what championships are made of. Brad woud like to thank his great sponsors: RaceStatus.com, Conely Engines, K&N Filters, Classic City Automotive NAPA, and TeamSE. Without their continued sponsorship help, this championship wouldn't be possible. This was the final points race of the year but Brad isn't done with his season yet. He will be competing at the North/South Shootout in Concord, NC on November 5th and 6th with the USA Modified Series in conjunction with the Rolling Thunder Modified Series.
